Did you know that can form knots (I didn't!). Excellent talk by Joanna Sulkowska on protein topology

Have you ever wondered if you can spot the knots in biopolymers without months of practise? Now it's possible! 🔍 Aleksandra Jarmolińska's designed Knot_pull, a command line utility which you can use to find and identify the knot. See for yourself ⬇️

We're hiring! 2 postdoc positions for an exciting project are opened now. It involves applying experimental data from NMR and optical traps measurements to computational studies of proteins with non-trivial topology to unravel their unknown mysteries.

There are four known knot types occurring in proteins, but the trefoil knot is the most popular one. On the left - our 3D printed model of YbiK - a deeply knotted tRNA methyltransferase. The knot core is in green and the Centre of New Technologies in the back.
