      This seems like the perfect example of a policy that seeks to do good by doing bad to the people who deserve bad. And I can’t think of too many successful policies that follow that form

      More specifically, mandatory public education only works if you have a system in which the wealthy and connected can’t carve out their own special spaces within that system. And that’s likely never happened anywhere in the history of anything
