I just go back to my original point. The federal budget is a public document. And as a matter of policy, it is formulated separately from any new revenue measures. I’m not sure how many lines in the federal budget do more to alleviate suffering than what Gates is doing.
My annoyance is beside the point. Honestly, I use Twitter as an exercise maintaining calm in the face of terrible opinions. So this is all self-inflicted. I just don’t get, if the US gov’t is moloch (and it is), why should I be psyched about giving it more revenue?

because pragmatically the extra taxes are going to education and healthcare instead of the war machine.

I’ll believe that when I see it. When the US government successfully reprioritizes its exerting spending, I’ll be cool giving it more revenue
