Whatever the cost of pre-k, free college, and improved public schools, the benefits are worth it to the republic.

Huh? The returns from pre-K are underwhelming to say the least and they fade after a few years. If parents need childcare, then help them get it. But spending more money to call it education is definitely not worth it

Definitely disagree on that one. Educators believe that pre-k is the silver bullet on everything from crime to future achievement and income.

I urge you to take a look at the NEA page on the importance of Pre-K. 1. It reduces crime. 2. Is a huge benefit to minorities. 3. Increases cognitive development. 4. Increases lifetime earnings. 5. Even increases health outcomes.

I’ll look again, but whenever I’ve looked at the research in the past, several things are obvious: 1. Most of the studies were small well-funded pilots that probably can’t scale 2. Most of the effects fade 3. Proof for the most drastic effects is weak
