The H-1B visa is not indentured servitude. Visa holders are not tethered to a single employer. Nor do H-1B workers lower the wages of skilled native-born workers, or crowd them out of jobs. The first of these claims is questionable. H-1B is tied to an employer. You can't just go on Indeed and find yourself a new one whenever you please.

You can. They have to do some paperwork, but you can start working before the paperwork is filed.
