Partisanship as far as "treating political parties like sports teams" is a problem. Ppl need to be willing to correct their party instead of just supporting them bc they are "on their side." That being said, the GOP has become a suicide cult, leaving a lot less flexibility.
OK, but which one is it: did his blackness appeal to white voters or was it something he overcame become he was a gifted politician? Those two things counter each other

I think it’s obvious it’s something he overcame, strategically, by not really talking much about racial issues in 2008. His middle name was Hussein, and voters are legendarily fickle, it’s amazing he ever got elected to the Senate. He might be the most talented pol in history.

I would like to tell you a story about Ted Cruz. A man who disgusts every person who meets him except his wife. That he can win a Senate seat shows that he is the most talented pol of the 21st century. BHO is number 2.

Ppl wanted to be good ppl, but their fear of black pols overwhelmed their desire to be good. He figured out how to make them comfortable so that their desire to be good could shine.

Sounds confused to me. He’s just a gifted politician who was both able to beat his own party’s front runner and win over white swing voters. That he could do that and HRC couldn’t isn’t because he’s black
