It’s not like I’m calling people up and shaming them for voting against the ACA. I’m merely saying it would make more sense to care about millions of human lives.

The ACA as a package improved health care coverage and costs, and it was a pretty lame version of what it could be. That's a good indicator that we should go further with it, not move towards a system that doesn't work anywhere in the world, or the one that didn't work here.

I'm also 100% be in favor of taking all the fed money that would go to HC in a state and allow a few states to adopt their own alternatives w/ that money. Particularly ones that will try free market alternatives, which I suspect will fail miserably.

Yup, but it would be on the leaders of those states that wanted to try it. Experiments are good, particularly when ppl want to do them. If the state pols are right, they deserve good electoral outcomes, if wrong, they should lose.

The states would volunteer, not be required to try alternatives.

It's may not be that likely as there is no Republican HC plan that has any large scale political support, particularly as it gets closer to having people put their reputation behind it.

Well, ACA itself was nominally a plan that originated from a conservative think tank.
