I’ve been pessimistic ever since 2010 when we lost the house after passing the affordable care act. We got punished for improving people’s lives.

It’s a little weird to assume for other people what improved their lives, no? Also, all things considered the ACA was probably a wash

A wash on what? It reduced the number of uninsured people by millions. It saved lives.

I’m not making an assumption, there are all kinds of data points on this.

There isn’t a person who doesn’t need healthcare.

ACA allowed people with pre-existing conditions to get insurance (a +), financed by raising premiums on other people (a -) Those who buy their own insurance, but make too much for the subsidy have been made worse off. Maybe the tradeoff was worth it, but there was a tradeoff

How would you have done it then? How do you get growth insurance for more people and protect pre-existing conditions without a law similar to this one?

Also, "raising premiums" had been happening since about 1946 ..... That is an intellectually dishonest argument.

You’re reaching here. ACA has a measurable upward impact on premiums, which is why it was paired with a subsidy. But some people make too much for the subsidy Problem here is that I’m stating facts and you’re responding with your opinions about what people ought to value

You are without a doubt the hardest person to interact with on this site. The reason premiums increased is because a BUNCH of sick people all got insurance at the same time! They were the ones who needed insurance the most. And we got it for them the only way we could.

If you’re having a hard time with the interaction, it’s because I’m not here to argue healthcare policy I’m here making a factual statement about the impact of the ACA and using it to explain why all Americans don’t love it. That’s it

My point is Americans should love it and hate it for dumb and unethical reasons. Repeal would harm many people.
