Spelling can also vary between languages, e.g. گر رضای دوست ما را در بلا خواهد رسید ما همیشه خویشتن را مبتلا خواهیم و بس (If our friend's will is that we should suffer, then we'll wish ourselves to always suffer.) Arabic بلاء, affliction, loses the hamza when borrowed into Farsi.
