A lot of professionals (on right & left) all of a sudden outraged at China, because a CEO can't tweet, that have laughed/scolded/ignored working class American's for complaining about lost jobs, lost cities, lost communities, because of our China policy only cares about profits

And please. There has long been frustration/outrage at doing business with a China regime that doesn't care about human rights, or environmental rights. China been doing bad stuff long before the Hong Kong protest, and yet the DC Wonks were happy to trade with them.

Will say it again. Free trade isn't on or off It is highly negotiated contracts between differently regulated regimes. US policy class has long chosen to ignore the ugly "different regulations" in China. Including workplace safety, environmental issues, & human rights issues

This is an absurdly cartoonish version of US trade policy. Why not engage with the real thing? Also, the whole ‘blind to working class concerns’ thing is a canard. Who do you think was buying all of those cheaper, Chinese made products?
