      Smartphones is one of those areas where I feel completely disconnected from the norm. I use an iPhone SE, because that’s what my company gave me. Wife and I do well for ourselves and have savings but neither of us can imagine dropping a G on a phone.

      Most people are like you, I think. But since people like you buy phones once ever three years or whatever and enthusiasts buy every year, the market is very friendly to the latter.

          The former, but not universally. I think you used to have 1 year people and 2 year people but now you have 1 year people and 3 year people. So a greater portion of phones are now being sold to the enthusiasts.
