      “Used against the left” doesn’t move me at all. But it absolutely would be used against Muslims, used against poor and minority churches, would be used against the most marginalized segments of our society and not for the benefit of the LGBT community

      Just because a university is “public” doesn’t mean it’s mostly publicly funded. Most public colleges only receive 20-30% of their funding from the state. Some less than 20%.

      This much debt wasn’t necessary until recently because public colleges used to be funded around 80% by the state. States have dropped funding by many billions over the last two decades.

      Not really. State funding has stayed at the same level, even grown, but tuition has just grown at a much faster rate
