I never loved Gawker but I always respected it, and I have long known we needed it. And the reporting Splinter did on its own demise was an absolute model of fearless journalism. It was murdered, and that sucks for our industry, and I salute its editors and writers.
Yeah, it was murdered, but it was murdered in retaliation. I don’t think you get to be as aggressively... Gawker as Gawker and then play victim when people retaliate. To quote the bards, “ain’t no such thing as halfway crooks”
