      This statement is demonstrably false. Any think tank that has tax-exempt status is registered as a 501(c)3, which means it’s explicitly prohibited from lobbying. 501(c)4 orgs can do lobbying, but those expenditures are not tax deductible. All of this info is publicly available

      Heritage Foundation is a 501c3 that does not lobbying or direct political intervention. It does have a 501c4 arm that does direct political advocacy. Just like Center for American Progress has CAP Action, which is a 501c4. In both cases lobbying expenses are not tax deductible.
