Why is it that women seem, on average, better equipped to live in a diverse society, and how can we change the socialization of boys to increase their fitness for diverse, multicultural society?

Well I admit I’m looking partly at voting behavior, but it seems that women are less sensitive to appeals to bigotry. And just anecdotally, my experience has been of women being more open to cultural change, men being more closed. But I don’t necessarily have data.

Excluding homosexual relationships (which make up a relatively small percentage of marriages), wouldn't there have to be an equal number of men and women who marry outside their race?
