Innate ability and skill has nothing to do with fairness, so how could anything that flows from it? Games have rules and if you want to argue that we often violate the rules for the advantage of certain people, then yes we do. You’re right about that

That’s where we disagree. Merit is part of a fantasy. It’s not bad. We just ought to acknowledge that out right instead of twisting ourselves in circles trying to explain why the same kinda of people always seem to end up in positions of wealth and authority
