I’m not sure what garden-variety means in this context but I think the concern is that misinformation and disinformation might actually result in widespread harm to human beings. Concerned about this harm is valid.

Yeah, this kind of illustrates what I’m talking about. You’re jumping to a whole lot of conclusions based on what you want to believe, with almost no understanding of where I’m coming from

I just want to but in and state that I have fallen for stories I now believe to be false before. They are more sophisticated than the OP, but I am concerned about my own consumption of misinformation
