I watched every day of her convention. It might have been literally the most diverse group of Americans ever assembled in one room. First trans speaker too. The keynote speech by Warren was all about inclusiveness.

The slogan of the convention and the campaign was even: “stronger together” which is an intentionally inclusive message.

Politics is simple, if stupid. Usually, the person who wins is usually whoever tells the most compelling story in which the voters can see themselves as the good guy. “Make America Great” does that more effectively than “I’m with Her”

“MAGA” is not an inclusive phrase. It literally means America was great before diversity and civil rights and that we can make it that way again. I’m with her is a phrase denoting the first female nominee.

Notice that Obama’s slogan was not “I’m with the black guy.” He won a lot of swing voters. Twice. Maybe there is a lesson there

Do you not grant the racist implications of the Trump slogan or would you rather just ignore that?

I’ll grant that Trump is a racist and that his campaign and almost the entire GOP is explicitly white supremacist at this point. And yet the same people that put Trump over the top also gave Obama two wins. The Dems seem unable to come to terms with these facts

Many people who voted for Obama didn’t vote in 2016. In Ohio alone the democratic turnout went from 2.8 million to 2.3 million. That is why she received so many fewer votes.

Why would a person who voted for Obama also vote for a person who forged his political career on calling Obama a Kenyan Muslim?

Figure that out and you’ll be a step closer to understanding this country
