Politics is simple, if stupid. Usually, the person who wins is usually whoever tells the most compelling story in which the voters can see themselves as the good guy. “Make America Great” does that more effectively than “I’m with Her”

“MAGA” is not an inclusive phrase. It literally means America was great before diversity and civil rights and that we can make it that way again. I’m with her is a phrase denoting the first female nominee.

Notice that Obama’s slogan was not “I’m with the black guy.” He won a lot of swing voters. Twice. Maybe there is a lesson there
