      Honest Question for Y'all: Are there grifters on the Left that are analogous to those on the Right, in terms of influence, reach, & brazenness? Honestly can't think of any, but that could be my bias and/or that no one I know talks abut/follows them. I am genuinely curious.

      If I understand your use of the term, there aren’t a lot of grifters on the left. But there are a lot of folks on the left running some sort of intellectual grift

      It means that Nancy MacLean, for example, can write a deeply flawed book about right-leaning economists that just makes a bunch of stuff up and it get short listed for the National Book Award, bc it conforms to a bunch of folks’ pre-existing biases
