Bourbon-Soaked Tod w/ Giblet Gravy Retweeted Oregon GOP

Bourbon-Soaked Tod w/ Giblet Gravy added,
Should also note that, in true Trumpism fashion, the pic they are using is not from this week and those people are not the militias they are talking about. This is an old picture from a timber industry protest.
What’s the actual crisis? Can’t help but think that if minority Dem legislators in a Southern state refused to provide quorum for a vote on a draconian abortion bill and the R governor sent the state police to arrest them, all the sympathies would do a 180
All the stuff about skipping the state has been done (Wisconsin in the last decade, Texas the decade before that). The militia angle is new though.
My point holds though. The other sides militants are always terrorists
That is ignorant, absurd hand-waiving. People may call, say, the Women's March or the Tea Party movement "terrorists" but that's moronic hyperbole. Groups with history of calls for political violence are different. OR3%ers are not the Young Republicans. Trust me.
I came into this conversation admitting my ignorance. I don’t know anything about Oregon militias other than being vaguely aware of tensions between coastal Oregon and the eastern parts of the state. Nonetheless, the phenomenon I mentioned is a thing
It is. But *this* thing is a very, very different thing - one that does not fit so well into a whatabotism box, anymore than Portland's attempted jihadi suicide bomber of the public Holiday Tree lighting was the same as Tucker Carlson or Ben Shapiro.
That’s why the first thing I asked was “what’s the crisis?” That wasn’t a rhetorical question. Also, pointing out that it’s hard to discern news on the internet because so many people have a partisan take isn’t whataboutism.
