Wilson's personal racism was a real thing. His success at pushing through major progressive reforms like the Estate & Income Taxes, anti-trust regulations & pro-labor policies were real, too.

This is exactly what I mean. These things are not connected to the racism Jane Coaston was talking about. Also, blaming Wilson for WW2 is a wild stretch.

The idea that early 20th c. progressiveness is somehow disconnected from white supremacy is part of America’s problem of not coming to terms with our history of white supremacy. It’s always something that belongs to the other side
