Those wiley capitalists of the Communist Part of China. Evil geniuses... More seriously, if China is capitalist then the word capitalist doesn’t mean anything other than “system I don’t like”

There are numerous European economies that meet that description but their economies are fundamentally different from the Chinese economy. I wouldn't say China is "capitalist," because its economy is planned and capitalists don't successfully fight the authority of the CPC afaik.

Did I say it was a communist utopia? No, but there has never been a clear counter-revolution in China as has happened in other socialist countries and I think the current initiatives of the CPC show it's oriented towards development and self sufficience as a base for socialism.

Replying to @dlphd2 @J_RtheWriter
If you're convinced all CPC members crafting policy are staunch right wing capitalists and that if you had your way you could institute Real Socialism, that's fine, but it's not particularly convincing

I understand that but I also think in that case just blanketly calling countries "socialist" or "capitalist" gets too complicated, because if the PRC is capitalist and the US and Europe are also capitalist, does that descriptor really provide much insight?
