You're the one who wrote you weren't allowed to legally buy and keep a gun in either place. Unless there's a legal reason for that, you were, and are, legally allowed to buy and keep a gun in both places.
This is what I mean about having to really stretch the truth in odd ways to make a false statement appear true. I said from the beginning that it is effectively impossible for a large number of Americans to get guns because of where they live.

Whereas, it is possible to get guns, but you want the process to be much simpler. There's nothing wrong with saying that, as opposed to claiming something is impossible (when, in fact, it is quite possible), especially when claiming that the other side is stretching the truth.
