It's both amusing and tragic that terms that are overloaded in antithetical ways--'socialism', 'meritocracy'--make debate practically impossible, save between parties of extreme good faith and fastidiousness around definitions.
I agree. But this masks a legitimate debate that we can’t get to because we’re stuck on semantics. I like Denmark just fine, but going full DSA leads some places to look like Denmark and some like Venezuela. We should be careful

It's not the economic system at fault then, is it? There's a lot more about a government than economic system.. How are leaders elected? How high is corruption? How involved are the citizens? How is oversight handled? What are the cultural attitudes?
