When ppl say "music from [past decade] is better," isn't that just survivorship bias? The only music from the 70s we play now is the great stuff--that's WHY we play it. But right now we have to listen to ALL the stuff, good and bad, from the 2010s, to determine what IS good.
Probably a combination of survivorship bias and nostalgia. We tend to have an attachment to the music that had the biggest impact when we were most susceptible to that impact
