Sure. And it's also not good for people to labor under politically sedating misapprehensions of reality. Maybe less happiness now pays off in more happiness later.

Is it correct to assume that income information would effectively combat “politically sedating misapprehensions?” People are pretty good at simply absorbing new data into their pre-existing world view.
