To respond to the main thrust of the critiques, the definition of neoliberalism I’m using here is what

My best analysis is that what most of us want is social democracy, and we all choose different words for it and fight over those words. That said, the people whose opinions about housing matter most to me (and are most up for grabs) use ~the same definition as me.

"Most of us" want help from the government in times of need and to be left well enough alone all the rest of the time. You could just as easily call that libertarianism as social democracy, largely depending on when you ask the question
