1/ Venezuela's economy collapsed because the Chavistas did nothing with the windfalls from high oil prices to make the economy more resilelnt to the fall in oil prices. economy less dependent on oil.
2/ They gave a lot of money to the poor (good) and stole a lot of money to keep heir government in power (bad). But what they didn't do was invest in making the Venezuelan economy less dependent on oil revenue
