1/ I’ve been working on #MentalHealth issues in the district for 8 years. My work on these issues were downplayed and dismissed. My immediate family suffered greatly with my #MaternalMentalHealth challenges and my family member’s #BP. I DID NOT back down.
2/ Instead, I went to the Massachusetts Statehouse and US #Congress to educate elected officials about what the impact was on individuals families who had been affected with lack of support services, lack of beds, 6 to 8 week wait times, 48 hour holds in emergency rooms
3/ Women have been separated from their children, incarcerated or involuntarily sectioned when expressing normal #postpartum intrusive thoughts and suicidal ideation‘s. Families have spent hours, days and weeks searching for a bed, a treatment facility, support services
4/ or working with the #CriminalJustice system for the wellbeing of their loved one. Emotional, financial and physical tolls have dismantled nuclear families and left thousands in our communities alone and/or abandoned. I will NEVER stop talking about #MentalHealthStigma
5/ and will continue to fight for federal dollars to support the mental wellness of all our citizens and communities in this district! #MA06 #MA6 #BelsitoForMA6 #BelsitoForMA06 #BelsitoForCongress
