Good to see years of campaigning from Labour MPs and workers in Barrow reflected in the Trident manifesto commitmentpic.twitter.com/elhhiHoILy

James! You're fine! Labour MPs back four, the govt won't change at the election, I'm the one on the ballot paper and you know my view 👍🏻

Pleased Lab has made manifesto commitment to renewal of Trident. Concerned Corbyn refuses to say what instruction he will give re its use.

I am personally delighted that a man of integrity will not commit to giving orders to horrifically kill thousands of innocent people.

Hasn't said that - refused to answer the question. Also why renew Trident if not prepared to use it to defend country. No longer a deterrent

Deterrent! Are you sure about that? Against who? Do you think if isis had nuclear capability it would stop them using it against the UK?

Then - for what purpose are Labour agreeing to the renewal of the nuclear deterrent Trident? If you can answer that I might agree with you.

Unless Corbyn wins, in which case Trident will be binned. Corbyn only follows his own agenda, manifesto promises mean nothing to him.

Because it's meant to be a deterrent not a weapon of mass destruction. If it ever gets to stage it's got to be used it's failed purpose.

Correct but to be a deterrent a potential aggressor has to believe that you'll use it. If they don't it's not a deterrent!

To be a deterrent there just has to be the possibility it would be used, with Trident being kept will always be that possibility
