I bit. I may have spun "his alleged cause for the country" from the way Jonah intended it, but I think spinning it in such a way is crucial to arguing from the author's perspective how the op-ed benefits his/her cause.

Guys, my friend Mike Long just published this book. He's one of my favorite speechwriter colleagues and a great guy — this is kind of like Freakonomics meets neuroscience.

The culture wars are raging as intensely as ever. But as the Kavanaugh hearings demonstrate, their defining feature in 2018 is not their intensity but their stupidity.

Remember back when there was that insane scandal where Omarosa had been secretly taping all of these White House meetings and it was the worst thing that had ever happened in American political life? What was that, like, 8 months ago?
