My son asked me when he's old enough to get local admin privileges. I said when he is good enough to take them. Then tell me how he did it.

Very interesting take from a progressive journalist on how opinion-oriented journalism is destroying traditional fact-based journalism.

Well said. I also have 3 daughters who all play ball and I've coached. It hits hard.

After 5-10 minutes on this site I still don't know what they sell. Best guess is something blocking SNMP & ICMP packets, and maybe a VPN? I'm guessing that's a sign it's snake oil. But hey, it's a "Zero-Trust Stealth Solution". That sounds cool, right? 😅

Apparently they think they can make up for those deficiencies with their genius lobbying campaign to weaken security for everyone. It's kind of sad to watch, especially when you watch literally dozens of US/foreign agencies (& private firms!) get by without mandated backdoors.

This is hysterical... and totally true! What's ironic is it's not very difficult to hack if you actually try hard. Not coincidentally, the FBI is a group who 1) underspends on cyber 🤦‍♂️ 2) insists on on-site staff vs. national talent. Not everyone lives near northern VA. 🙄

There are so many stories about what happens (particularly to girls) when they get their first social media account. Sad/shocking how many women end up accepting the online harassment as “normal”, if they didn’t succumb to grooming attempts () already.

Wow, pleasantly surprised that published an article on parenting & surveillance of your kids _advocating_ for the practice. Thought for sure they’d be on the “just let them figure it out themselves” side of things which is so wrong/dangerous.

I signed it and everyone else who believes in public access to government funded research should sign it too. Monopolistic control over publicly funded research is a travesty.

I’m a fan of markets but also don’t think it makes sense for a private firm to control the .org domains. Why not just leave it as is and let non profits get it for cheap? Not sure how people/society/anyone benefits by the change except for the proposed new monopoly holder.

Funny to read someone say they aren’t whining but several sentences later hear them saying “it’s not fair” that private companies get to make decisions about their products unilaterally. It’s a free market, that’s how things work.

Great background on how the US viewed Soleimani over the years and some of the operations he was overseeing and involved in. Nice to read thoughtful reporting, harkens back to when people read newspapers...

Great idea. There was a respected Washington Post columnist who i would love to have investigate the matter but you killed him
