I have the list of all the commonwealth soldiers that did take part in the parade, broken down by country, order in parade, and regiment. Some may still be alive Alastair.

Yes, that is correct. I think one could make a decent film purely about the Indian Military's determination to attend, having been told they could not go.
They were fully represented, and the Indian Navy commandeered a Destroyer to take the contingent, however sign off had never been granted. As a consequence there is no Official Indian Government Record of the Indian Contingent, or the Corination.
There must have been somesort of communication between the Indian and Brirish Govt, given India was not included in the parade. It must have been an incredible thing, to have gone all that way, but not take part in the march.
