can I ask: why not make a new black female character instead of being lazy and having her take iron man's place?

-
That is a VERY good question
-
The race and gender of characters are obviously irrelevant I just don't like changing existing characters
-
Nahhh I mean on one had it does matter. Representation matters.
-
good or not, not their skin colour, sexual orientation or gender
-
And as a white male presented person...that works because you see yourself everywhere.
-
why do you need to be the same race or gender to relate to a character? I relate just fine to many black
-
it's important to see people who look like you presented in different ways.

To a young dark skinned black girl who may struggle to accept the color of her skin it is THAT different.
-
Does this hypothetical girl know there is a difference btw a penciler, an inker, and a colorist?

I wish her suit had a different look than Iron Man. Scrap the red/gold, get a new color scheme. Make the suit more feminine.
-
Rescue suit is a great design. It has it's own color scheme red/silver and it's suited for the female contour.pic.twitter.com/Cnmq2ykCt0

True, but it can still contour to the female body better to accentuate that it's a female in the suit.

Designs aren't always practical in comic books. It's all about what draws the eye aesthetically. What looks cool.

Wonder Woman has worn boob armor forever. Either way, if you look at the character from a glace it's just Ironman
