US reporting under on compliance w/ the Convention against Torture has: ▪️ Obscured border policies that violate CAT; ▪️ Ignored actions inconsistent with CAT re Gitmo & the CIA’s post-9/11 torture program; ▪️ Shown scant evidence of accountability for law enforcement.

There's a lot to like about the Biden administration's new report on combating anti-trans violence - but to maximize progress, federal and state lawmakers will need to demonstrate the same commitment.

. , why hasn’t a floor vote been scheduled on yet? You have enough support in the House to move it. Stop the games. If you are committed to racial justice & addressing systemic racism, you will schedule the vote ASAP.

This week's arrest in Ukraine of Denis Kulikovsky, aka “Palych,” who allegedly oversaw the notorious torture prison in Donetsk is a huge step towards justice. There are numerous allegations of his direct involvement in torture, killing of civilians.

JUST FILED - Montgomery County, Pa's practice of automatically jailing virtually everyone charged with probation or parole violations--and confining them for months without a hearing--is harmful, unnecessary, and counterproductive. So & sued.

Abuse against migrants in Calais are widely documented but French Interior minister says it's "lies". Rather than deny the facts, he should abandon failed policy that doesn't deter new arrivals or irregular Channel crossings but inflicts intolerable misery
