I can say “we” about u & me with no problem. I played challenger. U were different. Another level altogether - big difference in level. But we both played competitive tennis. There is some common ground that we both can relate to, no matter how small it is. Same w those 2.
You said it yourself one is a journalist and one is a host. A challenger player and tour player could say "we". A tour player and a racquet stringer can't say "we". They have the sport in common, but different jobs
