Why are WNBA not paid as much as NBA players for the same work? Because the quality of the skills is not the same...
They aren't packaged together at the same event. Women's only events are free to get sponsorship and ticket $$ however they want and at any level. Slams are packaged as the top level of tennis for both genders

Also women's tennis attracts enough viewers to fund itself, the big wta stars bring in a huge amount of viewers with Serena etc rivalling if not sometimes exceeding the top men

True, I can accept if if the Women's matches bring in larger audiences, but I am willing to be that 'on average' men's tennis has more viewership than women's tennis at the tournaments where both are held.
