@JRBlake, your movie example works because the product quality is the same. The quality of acting in movies does not vary between the sexes. Whereas the quality tennis 'performance' does vary, greatly actually.
Movies don't vary in quality? So Citizen Kane was the same as Gigli? The entertainment is what is paid for. You don't get your money back because you thought a movie was too short or not enough action. PS. Women actors should get equal pay too.

They aren't packaged together at the same event. Women's only events are free to get sponsorship and ticket $$ however they want and at any level. Slams are packaged as the top level of tennis for both genders

@JRBlake Women actors 'should' get paid equal if not more, Movies are not split between the sexes so all movies are in 1 general category, the quality of it depends on other variables. Tennis 'is' split between the sexes, and the skills quality of men's matches is always greater. -

You’re very right James, but actors are mostly paid based on public success and attendance. It seems that (at the moment at least) men tennis get more attendance and media coverage than women tennis, therefore more money coming on the ATP side. Isn’t that correct ?
