.@RealGwenCarr is a hero and no parent should have to suffer the way she has. Much less at the hands of those who were sworn to protect and serve.

The room is much smaller than I would have imagined. Making things much more personal, but still powerful.

I felt sorry for the reps that had to go last as most others had left to vote or be involved in other meetings. @DebbieforFL and @RepRaskin both were eloquent, but speaking to a nearly empty chamber

Dr Phillip Dodd is really smart and I would count on him for facts and analysis on nearly anything. Thank you for your tireless work.

Heather McDonald distorted facts and polls to fit her narrative. It was so blatantly out of the realm of reality that not even one representative called on her for a question.

@RepValDemings gave an impassioned speech from a place of experience having served 27 years on the police force. Thank you.

.@mattgaetz is just a grandstanding tool. I try not to speak badly about people on here, but he was looking for cameras and to disparage a witness that was voluntarily there and having nothing to do with the issue we were constructively discussing.

After @mattgaetz went on his rant @Jim_Jordan came back into the room seemingly to congratulate him, yielded his time back to him so he could continue his attack on @TheRevAl and then left again

.@RepDougCollins gave a very passionate and eloquent opening statement about how meaningful this is because his father was a police officer. Then proceeded to leave the room for all other opening statements and most of the day. I can only assume he had other pressing business

The parliamentary procedure requests are pretty funny. It’s basically grown adults asking about 4 or 5 people behind the chairman what they are and aren’t allowed to do during the session.

The interns are so young, vibrant and hopeful it makes me optimistic about the future when it has seemed bleak lately with this administration.
