What a sad day to gut the voting rights act. Now two branches of the government are welcoming elections to be rigged.https://twitter.com/AriBerman/status/1144246265141780486 …

Breaking: SCOTUS just ruled that extreme partisan gerrymandering is beyond reach of federal courts. 5-4 decision by Roberts. This is very bad for democracy

It's terrible and the supreme court is shameful...but how surprised can we be though?

What is happening to America? America is not a game to be played, however, the powers that be are treating it as such. The only people "winning" today are lawyers, politicians & the rich. If history holds, & this situation persists, there's likely gonna be an uprising...

This SCOTUS ruling did not gut the VRA. It addressed partisan, not racial gerrymandering. Racial gerrymandering can still be challenged in federal courts. After this ruling, the only avenue for challenging partisan gerrymandering will be state courts.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a bad ruling, but individual states can still fight this.

To me the last 2 years have been the end of democracy. I feel like being a gay senior citizen cancer survivor makes me first on the list of those to be exterminated in Trumpmerica.

Democracy has been screwed in the UK as well, not just in America. 😞
