hi folks! here is a little thread 🧵 on the benefits of low-fidelity art styles in games, such as pixel art and low poly. i think that, beyond just nostalgia, these styles can positively contribute to the experience of games! #gamedev#indiedev
Well, folks, we all made it this far on Twitter. If everything indeed explodes, I just want to say, "Congratulations"
(In case you need 'em, my socials are listed on my website: http://jplc.ca)
I'll be honest folks, I don't know what's going to happen next on here. But, for all my criticisms of this site, I just wanted to say: t'was an honour and a privilege. Y'all were brilliant, strange, and wild. If we lose this place, I'll miss most of you.
“Accept your biological body” is not a standard anyone actually holds.
When my tonsils were choking me, a doctor removed them.
My “biological body” was altered to improve my life.
This happens Every day, all the time, and you Only pretend to care the MOMENT it becomes queer.
Gender ideology: ‘It is the job of all to reassure and support pupils to learn to accept their biological bodies and love themselves for who they are’ writes educational psychologist Carolyn Brown.

BILLIONAIRES: people should just work harder
ALSO BILLIONAIRES: [getting bored and destroying websites that creators have literally spent years building communities on to maintain their livelihoods]
I've been having some thoughts recently on Evangelion, especially about why episodes 25 and 26 are important. I wrote them down, but it's too long for Twitter; you can find the full post on cohost: https://cohost.org/JPLC/post/257642-some-thoughts-on-eva…
We joke, but it’s truly nuts that we live in a world where a man can just buy a place that has been used by activists to take down dictators, journalists to quickly gather information, people of all walks to keep up with breaking events, and just run it into the ground.
Honestly I wasn’t going to say anything publicly but now that Netflix Bebop has been canceled, I would just like to point out that the main issue was not Ed, or Vicious, but rather that it recreated a piece of media with defined political statements and removed every. last. one.
So I don't plan on ditching Twitter yet (at least for now), but if anyone needs other contacts for me, I can be also found on cohost (https://cohost.org/JPLC) and Mastodon (https://mastodon.social/@JPLC), and other socials are listed on my own site (http://jplc.ca)
You'd think the people who are hyperfixated on manliness would have the easiest time grasping the idea of gender being a construct given that what's considered 'masculine' has done so many 180-degree turns in the past few hundred years
this is a huuuge reach but i always thought that this concept art sorta doubled as a VERY beta/alpha death stranding. i.e a depressed disheveled man on the end of his rope is tasked with carrying a funny cartoon baby around
There are many legitimate reasons to cast or not cast a particular person, but it feels disrespectful to Charles - a voice actor with decades of experience - to assume he’s incapable of doing anything except the “woohoo” voice.
“Do we really want to listen to a whole film of Charles Martinet going “woohoo” in falsetto…”
Charles Martinet voiced Paarthurnax, the dragon in Skyrim who teaches you shouts. He’s a professional actor with a wide range. He 100% could have pulled off a movie appropriate voice.
Voicing Mario in a movie is an impossible task, because he’s never really been a character https://polygon.com/23396736/mario-movie-chris-pratt-character-reinvention?utm_campaign=polygon&utm_content=chorus&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter…
So I'm still only a few eps into my first watch of Space Runaway Ideon, but already it's apparent how this inspired aspects of Evangelion. Fascinating to see as a long time Eva fan
