It’s a system of living that every single time it has been attempted has led to totalitarianism. The combination of state control of everything and basic human nature will never end well. Whether it’s called fascism or communism, the result is always the same.

True Communism is not applicable as a form of national government. The "communists" of the Soviet revolution and Mao used the term because it was popular among the revolutionaries who fought against the repressors (Czars, Kuomintang), but the party itself had no intent to be so.

....and so, the term was really nothing but a marketing decision used by totalitarians. It had no really meaning in that form. It is an idealistic way of life, applicable to small groups only.
