    Instagram was recently nuking Palestinians accounts for having the Palestinian flag. When the U.S was claiming Venezula was burning aid & food. FB came in to block media outlets who pointed out it was a lie.

    News media have a responsibility to challenge official claims. When they don't, the consequences can be devastating. More people may have now died from 9/11 illnesses than from the attacks themselves.

    15 years later, this piece I wrote about NYT reassurances that Ground Zero did not pose a serious health risk to rescue and cleanup workers and residents is still one of the few I consider most important.

    Last week, 8,539 Americans died of covid. In total, 678,001 Americans have died of covid.

    By the early 1960s, when the measles vaccine was introduced, the disease was killing 400-500 people in the US a year. And we required vaccination as a condition for attending school, because why would you allow hundreds of people to die needlessly every year?

    I think I've had like ~6 mandatory vaccines in my lifetime. Now the one where hundreds of thousands of people are dying has somehow set off the outspoken, childish Libertarian elements on the Left that conflate steeming-from-Govt = bad. Completely inane.
