    MSF and NRC being suspended in Ethiopia is relevant, but the sidenote on the suspension of the UAE's Al Maktoum Foundation is very interesting. Expelling an aid organization so tied into the UAE royal family seems to signal a rather troubled relationship.

    I hear Beijing extremely angry at Abiy for murder of Seyoum Mesfin. The ex-ForMin hugely respected in policy circles. He was the architect of Ethiopia's strategic partnership with China that spawned a vast infrastructure renewal in Ethiopia. Am sure others states shocked too.
