Have they retreated back to their bases before this morning attack?

As I read in other sources there were no significant retreats. Maybe just stopped advancing and need to regroup/refill.

Al Watiya inherently favours defenders, given the terrain-flat, open desert, no settlement, affording no cover for attackers. Means, unless penetrate sufficiently to all but take the entire site, any attack has to withdraw else wide open and exposed for air strikes/shelling

Likewise, even, as today, whilst GNA breached and seized some peripheral areas, housing complex, if remained, pinned down and destroyed, so all gains lost, forced to withdraw out of desert-aka starting positions on the coast
