Mentioning a member of Congress was in a Jewish fraternity in college in an article about tax policy is wholly irrelevant and plays into classic #antisemitic tropes about Jews and money.
The should edit this article ASAP.

And since you're calling out antisemitism in the press, how about calling out 's Jew-hatred?

Also, isn't National Post Canadian? I guess none of the left of center American outlets wanted to touch this.

Where does it say it was a Jewish fraternity? Sounded Greek to me. Was I supposed to Google it to find out?

The commentary is BS. The limit on the state and local tax deduction was to handcuff high tax states that have a large Democratic Party majority of registered voters. He's turning into class warfare, and its hollow. The limit on state and local taxes was to hurt blue states.

Things can be true at the same time.
1) the cap was a attack on Blue states.
2) the removal of the cap will MOSTLY benefit the wealthiest.
3) the smart compromise is to raise the cap to around $25k.

I think the intention was to paint Gottheimer as a privileged, Harvard frat boy, which he may very well be. As far as inferring from his membership in a Jewish frat that he’s Jewish doncha think the name Gottheimer kinda let that cat outta the bag? Am I missing something?
