FWIW, I've interviewed Ryan many times over the years and he never failed to mention how much he disliked being away from his kidshttps://www.thedailybeast.com/report-paul-ryan-wont-run-for-reelection/ …

Yes, here is my summary/analysis: "Paul Ryan, who was only serving b/c we forced him to, will leave congress to spend time w/ his kids b/c he lost his own father as a teen." The only challenge to this public relations nonsense is the idea that his district now Leans GOP.

Have seen so much, "Paul Ryan is a good man and better than the current brand of Trumpy Republican," when in reality he is a polite man (there's a big difference) who enabled and protected Trump every step of the way and advanced policies that demonstrate zero empathy. Not good.
-
Last thing: His policies are usually in his own financial interest, or the interest of his campaign. And, the credit he gets as a policy wonk is completely undeserved. Again, polite and handsome do not = good and doing free pr for such people helps nothing.
