If there's no FTA with the EU, is the government going to rebrand farm foreclosures across Wales and Scotland as "Australian Style Agricultural Business Fluidity Reinvigorations?"

I have said this before but Brexit is an indictment of our education system. That millions of people have no critical faculties and will believe any old shit they are told is to our eternal shame. Brexit is a victory for collective stupidity abetted by a supine media.

Reminder that on the government's own estimates a Canada-style free-trade deal would cost the UK 6.7% of lost GDP growth over 15 years. Jobs will be lost, businesses will close, schools and hospitals lose funding. The poorest will pay the price.

And right after Brexit. What a coincidence!

"Hey, maybe one reason the regulatory alignment provisions in CETA aren't as rigorous as what the UK is being asked for is CETA let the EU keep tariffs in place in many of the sectors its most worried about?" - The UK Press Corps, any moment now.

A good journalist would, at this point, ask whether the EU *has* moved the goalposts. Reporting the government's spin uncritically is stenography, not journalism.

And now, as a nation that had decided to listen to people who knew the square sum of jack shit about trade, rather than the people who consulted with people who did and wrote a document so they could understand, people are annoyed that it does not and has never worked like this.

It's really annoying that Donald Tusk cares more about the people of the UK than I do.

My grandfather was a teenage soldier. He & his mate escaped a POW Death March, found the Allies, returned armed with US pistols to help capture the Nazis. He did it partly so future teenagers COULD dance in the street with pink hair. He’d have chosen bad twerking over fascism.

Really, if people at that level of privilege fail to realise they're talking nonsense, we're doing everything wrong in education. There's not a single coherent thought in this. 😂🤣🤦 🦄🧚🥳

Riddle me this. So Dominic Raab believes it was “rather irresponsible” for Donald Tusk to speak warmly about Scotland joining the EU. But he doesn’t think it irresponsible to negotiate a 590 page Withdrawal Agreement, without reading the 35 page Good Friday Agreement. OK.

This is a most peculiar and misleading point - we have only so far entered a transition period - we are still in all EU regulation, trade, services, tariff and quota schemes until the end of the year - none of this - as presumably you know - would be affected.

I feel bad laughing about people's stupidity, but sometimes it's too hard not too. (Feels like intellectual bullying. It's not their fault.)

Presumably those people tweeting “look, Brexit has happened and everything is fine” aren’t the same people who say “staying in the Single Market and the Customs Union isn’t Brexit”?

I'll be blunt. Access to expertise, (medical/technological...) is the main factor in human survival rates. That makes respect for expertise an evolutionary imperative. The overwhelming majority of experts told us not to Brexit, making it an evolutionary failure.
