We have int’l treaty and statutory obligations (INA §208 & 241) to allow people to seek asylum. To those that argue that immigrants aren’t coming the “legal” way, there are laws that govern this. It’s Trump who is circumventing the laws passed by Congress, not asylum seekers.
Legality aside, we need to recognize the humanity of immigrants. Whatever their nationality is, they are human, and the irresponsible, racist, and anti-immigrant policies are causing human suffering just so Trump can pump up his base.
